What is Budget Billing?

Same payment every month. No need to worry about unexpected high monthly bills. Use Budget Billing to help you manage your finances with equal monthly payments.

How It Works

Your payment is calculated by averaging the past 12-months of electrical usage at your current location. This number is then used to set your monthly payment.

Because usage is typically lower in the summer and fall, your payments will establish a credit balance for the higher-usage winter months.

You must make your budget payment each month before the due date to remain on Budget Billing.

Accounts will be reconciled annually and adjusted based on actual usage, but the goal is to have zero balance at the end.

 How To Enroll

Call us at (360) 423-2210 or sign up on SmartHub.

What is AutoPay?

Enroll in AutoPay and ensure your payment is received on time.

  • Saves you money – no more late fees or stamps
  • Saves you time – no more check writing and mailing
  • Reduces identify theft potential – no lost personal information in the mail

How It Works

We will automatically debit the bank account, debit card or credit card you have chosen every month for the total amount due.

You will receive a notification when your bill is ready for review and a confirmation that your payment is scheduled for payment.

You can modify or update your payment method any time through the SmartHub app.

How To Enroll

Sign up for AutoPay on SmartHub. Download the SmartHub mobile app through your phone app store. Select AutoPay and enter your payment information or complete the AutoPay Authorization Form (PDF) and return to Cowlitz PUD.

What is PrePaid?

PrePaid is a pay as you go alternative to buying electricity. You buy electricity the same way you buy gasoline – before you use it.

  • Manage your usage through SmartHub
  • Pay what you want, when you want
  • No more late fees
  • No account deposit required
  • Use your current deposit to pay off debt

How It Works

Instead of receiving your traditional bill each month, customers manage their account through the SmartHub app.

Monitor your usage and when your pre-paid balance gets low, simply make a payment to replenish your account.

  • $25 minimum starting balance
  • No program fees
  • Low balance notifications
  • The average PrePaid customer reduces their usage by 7-12%, that’s money you could potentially save!

How To Enroll

Complete the PrePaid Agreement Form (PDF) and return to Cowlitz PUD. A customer service representative will contact you to set you up and answer any of your questions about PrePaid.

What is eBill?

  • Quick and easy access
  • Emailed to you monthly
  • Saves on postage
  • Download, save and print current and past bills
